I work in a bookshop, which I love. This illustration is a celebration of my experience of working in this environment, which is full of life in all its quirkiness and richness. Bookshops are important social environments, where people connect with stories that help them navigate life’s ups and downs. To quote Joan Didion’s “We tell ourselves stories in order to live”.

I’m also a designer and illustrator, working under the name Adrian Z Design, though my real name is Adrian Robb. I provide a range of services, including book design, editorial, web design, marketing materials and design for print. My main area of interest is book design, specifically fiction and lifestyle. A lot of my illustration work is publishing-related. But I’m open to new avenues of creativity!
