I happened to have my camera out in Heuston Station and the scene just presented itself.

You had this wonderfully talented piano player on one side, with a crowd already there in advance. And on the other, you had two people who seemed uninterested, isolated, and totally engrossed in their phones.

The image captures the clear division, both literal and metaphorically, between the two groups. As a street photographer you really see how much people have cut themselves off from each other via this little thing that fits in our hands. It’s sad but we’re all guilty of it to some extent.
