As a foreigner, I find Dublin Bay — and the relationship Dubliners have with it — really fascinating. The tides rise and fall frequently, but the sea is usually calm.

There’s an abundance of nature and wildlife along the coast, yet there are always massive ships in the background and two omnipresent industrial chimneys watching over everything.

People exercise and play various sports by the sea, even swimming when the weather allows (the bravest do it regardless). Some people simply rest while eating or drinking something. When I cycled past this group of people, I couldn’t resist going back to photograph them — they felt like a perfect summary of everything I just described.

My name is Pablo Marín García, and I’m a freelance Spanish photographer living and working in Dublin. I’m open to commissions and assignments — feel free to contact me directly via Instagram at @pamagar.
