Subscription FAQs

Can I get a lower-priced subscription?

Yes. We want the paywall to be a nudge, but not an impenetrable barrier. If you're not in a position to take out a subscription at any of these prices, get in touch and we'll sort you a Digital subscription at any price that works for you, all the way down to free, so you can read all you want. sam@dublininquirer.com.

Can I pay in another way, not by card via this website?

Yes. Most subscribers pay by card via Stripe on this website, but some pay by invoice and EFT and some by PayPal. In the past we've had people post a cheque or drop by the office with cash. We're also open to barter.

Can I get a print-only subscription?

No. The main cost of producing articles is the journalism – paying reporters to find, report, and write stories, and paying editors to polish them up and fact-check them. So our Print + Digital starts with €6 to help pay for that, and then, if you want us to deliver that in print by post to you, we add another €3 to make the print newspaper, pack it up into an envelope with a label, and pay An Post to deliver it to you. So we don't sell print-only subscriptions for €3 a month – although you can go buy a copy of the paper at one of our stockists in Dublin for this price.

Are there shops that sell the print edition?

Yes. There are a few places around town you can buy the monthly print edition, which has most but not all of the stories we publish online, for €3.

  • Books Upstairs on D'Olier Street
  • A coin-operated newsbox in George's Arcade
  • Little Deer Comics in Stoneybatter
  • Marlowe & Co in the Tenters
  • The Library Project in Temple Bar

Also, Dublin City Libraries has a subscription and so you should be able to go read the print edition in any branch.

Do you offer group or institutional subscriptions?

Yes. You can buy a subscription for yourself and one or more other specific people, or you can buy a subscription for anyone with your organisation's email address, for example, we could set one up for anyone with a @dublininquirer.com email address.

How do I change what type of subscription I have?

There are some changes you can make through your account on the website, but it is probably just easier to email sam@dublininquirer.com and I'll sort it for you.

Can I have a receipt for my subscription payment?

Yes. Email sam@dublininquirer.com and I'll sort it for you.

How do I cancel my subscription?

When everything's working properly, you should be able to do it from your account on our website. At the moment, though, we've just migrated to this new website and that's not working for some people. Sorry about this. Until we get it sorted, please just email me at sam@dublininquirer.com, and we'll cancel it asap, no questions, no hassles. –Sam Tranum, 3 May 2025.
