Council launches public consultation on how to develop George’s Dock
Whatever is decided, Dublin City Council doesn’t plan to cover the costs. Instead, it wants a private operator to come in and deliver a facility or activity.
At a special meeting, councillors voted through a list of measures seeking, they said, to address the “increasing erosion of cultural life and space” in the city.
But a gap in legislation means it’s not as easy to take back the award, as it is to give out, say some councillors.
