Apresentando @DublinInquireremPortugues

A influência da comunidade brasileira em Dublin pode ser vista em todos os lugares.

Na cena musical, cultura gastronômica, grafite, arte de rua, lojas e ativismo ambiental, ativismo antirracismo e muito mais.

Há anos publicamos nossos artigos somente em inglês  em nosso site,  os compartilhamos por meio de nossos canais de mídia social e boletim informativo por e-mail.

Mas percebemos que diferentes comunidades recebem suas notícias de maneiras variadas. E não achamos que estamos fazendo um trabalho bom o suficiente para alcançar os falantes de português em Dublin.

Então, agora estamos pilotando um projeto que visa nos conectar com a comunidade brasileira em Dublin via Instagram.

Nossa colaboradora Bartira Augelli que é do Brasil, postará trechos de notícias e vídeos em português em  seu país de origem.

Também postaremos alguns vídeos lá de tempos em tempos, sobre como o governo local funciona aqui, quem faz o quê, como contatá-los e como se envolver para pressionar por mudanças em questões com as quais você se importa.

Bartira estará lá nos comentários, ouvindo suas ideias sobre o que deveríamos estar relatando na cidade, as questões que importam para você e o que mais você gostaria de saber do seu jornal local.

The influence of Dublin’s Brazilian community can be seen everywhere.

In the music scene, food culture, graffiti, street art, shops and environmental activism, anti-racism activism, and more.

For years we’ve been publishing our articles in English only, on our website, and sharing them via our social media channels and email newsletter.

But we realise that different communities get their news in different ways. And we don’t feel we’re doing a good enough job reaching Portuguese speakers in Dublin.

So we’re now piloting a project aimed at connecting with the Brazilian community in Dublin via Instagram.

Our contributor Bartira Augelli, who is from Brazil, will be posting news excerpts and videos in Portuguese there.

We’re also going to post some videos there from time to time, on how local government here works, who does what, how to contact them, and how to get involved to push for change on issues you care about.

And Bartira will be there in the comments, listening to your ideas on what we should be reporting on in the city, the issues that matter to you, and what else you’d like from your local newspaper.
