Why don't councillors talk as much about homelessness at meetings anymore?
For years, homelessness was a standing item on the agenda at most housing committee meetings. But, recently it hasn’t featured as often.
Requests for a school warden were previously turned down because it was considered too dangerous, said a councillor. In recent times, two other schools have been told the same.
They have blocked the road to force change before, and are prepared to do it again, says Chapelizod Tidy Towns chair Peter Kavanagh.
Seven of the Mulberry Cottages are on the derelict sites register, and there’s been little progress towards bringing them back into use.
So they can go play with their families and friends without adding to “the traffic and our own carbon footprint”, says Róisín Walsh.
