Now that the council has stopped taking horse manure, it's piling up in the Liberties
“So the council is allowing horses in Dublin City,” says horse owner David Mulraney. “But they’re not allowing them to put their horse manure anywhere.”
"Digital screens are impacting on our environment,” says independent Councillor Mannix Flynn. “It’s another erosion of the public domain.”
When designs for the new-look plaza at the corner of South Great George’s Street and Dame Lane went before councillors last year, they said it looked like a hotel entrance.
They say they hope that bringing more activity to it will reduce anti-social activity there – and also just put an underused space to better use.
