Dublin City Council is buying 40 homes in the Northbank apartments. It is not clear how many tenants have been evicted for the deal to proceed.
The council says it wants to hear from you.
The estate is very open and will remain so, says Eoin Quinlan, the general manager, but the owners also need to keep it safe.
It is just the latest route that Dublin councillors have proposed closing, following a similar arc of discussion.
Improvements along a 3.8km stretch from Suir Road to Leeson Street are scheduled to be done by the end of this year.
