This painting is called Blackbird in Trees. I made a few of these small mixed-media paintings in 2022. They are made on framed plywood that I purchased in Japan when I lived there.

The main image of the blackbird is from a print I made. I find printmaking a little rigid, so I like to use the prints with collage. It loosens them up and makes each version totally unique.

I was born in New York but live in Sutton, Co. Dublin, and work out of my studio at home. I work mostly in paint, print and sculpture. I spent four years living and working in Tokyo, which had a profound effect on my work. In 2022, I became a member of Graphic Studio Dublin and, since then, show regularly there, as well as at SO Fine Art and with Stoney Road Press.

My work is in many private collections and is also owned by Arthur Cox plc, Belmond Grand Hibernian, the Embassy of Ireland in Japan, Joseph Walsh Studios, the Office of Public Works, Opera Ireland and the XL Group plc.
