In the north inner-city, tenants of 15 years evicted so council can buy their home
Dublin City Council is buying 40 homes in the Northbank apartments. It is not clear how many tenants have been evicted for the deal to proceed.
“You simply cannot just say you're putting out a phone when really what you're actually doing is you're putting out a massive advertising board.”
The council intends to carry out a wider culling of street clutter too, according to the new draft city development plan. But the last plan said that too.
It’s unclear yet how Dublin City Council will meet its target of reducing street clutter by 20 percent by 2022, but other counties, such as Cork, may provide a blueprint.
