Council managers are on the hunt now for sites.
On Monday, councillors agreed a new development contribution scheme for the county, for 2026–2030.
The plan is to start construction next summer on work to make the junction safer for pedestrians and cyclists, and less congested for buses, Luases, and private-vehicle drivers.
Karin Dubsky, an environmental scientist and director of Coastwatch Ireland, said it is likely that aggressive winds brought by Storm Claudia were to blame.
Changes to funding under the tenant-in-situ scheme mean the council can no longer recoup costs of any immediate refurbishment of the properties.
The project is part of a constellation of efforts by Dubliners with a connection to Brazil to keep their children in touch with that country’s culture.
